Dunya Arena Privacy Policy
Effective date: October 21, 2026
Last updated: October 21, 2026
This Privacy Policy describes how Sagewright Games ("Sagewright", "we", "us" or "our") collects, uses, shares and retains information in connection with Dunya Arena (the "Game"), and the rights available to you with respect to that information.
Dunya Arena is operated by Sagewright Games. For the purposes of the EU General Data Protection Regulation and the UK General Data Protection Regulation, Sagewright Games is the controller of the personal data described in this Privacy Policy.
Questions about this Privacy Policy may be sent to biz@sagewrightgames.com.
1. Summary
- The Game is played through Steam. We do not request your name, email address or password, and we do not operate user accounts of our own.
- To provide online matches, we process your Steam ID, your Steam display name and data about the matches you play, such as the hero you selected and your results.
- We retain a match history and short-term replays so that players can review their matches, and a rating for players of Ranked matches.
- The Game may send crash reports to our error-tracking provider. Each time the Game starts, it also sends an anonymous session signal used to measure crash rates. Both can be disabled in the Game's settings.
- We do not sell personal information, display advertising or use third-party advertising or analytics trackers.
2. Information We Collect
2.1 Information Provided by Steam
When you start the Game, Steam, a service operated by Valve Corporation, provides us with the following information:
| Information | Purpose |
|---|---|
| Your Steam ID, a public numeric identifier | To identify you in matchmaking, maintain your rating, display your match history and process reports |
| Your Steam display name | To display your name to other players in matches, on the scoreboard and in chat |
| A Steam authentication ticket | To confirm with Steam that the connecting client belongs to you. The ticket is not retained beyond this check. |
| Steam friends and lobby information, only when you use party or invitation features | To allow you to form a party and queue together. We do not store your friends list. |
We do not receive your Steam password, email address, payment information or purchase history. Your use of Steam is governed by Valve's privacy policy.
2.2 Information Generated During Online Play
| Information | Purpose |
|---|---|
| Match records: match ID, date, duration, mode, heroes selected, team, kills, deaths and assists, damage, healing, gold, items, ability ranks, the match result and whether a player left early | To provide match history and ranked ratings, enforce fair play and balance the Game |
| Replays of matches, consisting of unit positions and game events. Replays also record the screen position of each command you issue and brief frame-rate measurements from your computer. Replays contain no voice or video. | To allow players to review recent matches, and to investigate reports of cheating and connection or performance problems |
| A randomly generated reconnect identifier, stored on your computer and sent to our game server when you join a match | To allow you to rejoin a match after a disconnection |
| Ranked rating and number of ranked wins | To match you with players of comparable skill in Ranked matches |
| Matchmaking status, such as a temporary queue restriction after declining a match | To maintain fair matchmaking |
| Text chat. Messages you send during a match are relayed to other players. They are held in server memory for the duration of the match and are not written to logs. | To provide in-match chat |
| Player reports. When a player submits a report, we store the Steam IDs and display names of both players, the reason and any comment provided, and up to the last thirty chat messages sent by the reported player in that match. | To review reports of cheating, abuse or harassment |
| Server logs. Our servers record technical information that includes your IP address and connection times, and our matchmaking server records the IP address and port of each connection. Our servers also produce technical simulation logs for each match, in which players are identified only by their position in the match. | To operate the service, diagnose faults and protect the service against abuse and attacks |
| Spectating. Other players may watch a match as it happens (casual matches) or after a delay (Ranked matches). | Spectators see the same information as players in the match, including display names, heroes and messages sent to all players. |
2.3 Crash Reports and Stability Data
The Game uses Sentry, an error-tracking service provided by Functional Software, Inc., to help us identify and correct crashes.
- Crash and error reports. If the Game crashes or encounters a serious error, it sends a report containing the error and its location in the code, recent lines from the Game's technical log, the Game version, the match ID, your graphics setting and technical details of your computer, such as the operating system, processor, graphics card, memory and screen. Reports for severe crashes may include a crash dump, which is a record of the Game's memory at the time of the crash. Crash dumps are used solely to diagnose the crash.
- Session signal. Each time the Game starts, it sends an anonymous session signal that allows us to measure the proportion of play sessions that end in a crash.
- Installation identifier. Reports and session signals include a randomly generated identifier for your installation of the Game, which allows us to recognise repeated crashes on the same installation. This identifier is not associated with your Steam account.
- Before a report is sent, the Game removes Steam IDs, IP addresses, email addresses and file paths containing your Windows user name. The Game does not send screenshots. Sentry is configured not to store IP addresses. Reports that cannot be sent immediately are held on your computer and sent at a later time.
You may disable crash reports and the session signal at any time under Settings, Account, Privacy ("Send crash reports"). Our servers also send crash reports to Sentry. Those reports contain no information about individual players other than the match ID.
2.4 Information Stored on Your Computer
Your settings, key bindings, language, tutorial progress and similar preferences are stored on your computer. The Game also stores on your computer the reconnect identifier described in section 2.2, which is sent to our game server when you join a match, any replays you download from your match history, and the Game's technical log file (Player.log). The log file contains your Steam ID. It is sent to us only in the form of log lines within a crash report, from which Steam IDs are removed.
While you play, Steam displays your current activity in the Game to your Steam friends (for example, "In a 3v3 match" or "In queue") through its rich presence feature. You can control this display in your Steam privacy settings.
2.5 Information We Do Not Collect
We do not collect your real name, email address, telephone number, precise location, contacts, microphone or camera input, or payment details. The Game does not use cookies or advertising identifiers.
3. How We Use Information and Our Legal Bases
| Purpose | Legal basis under the EU and UK GDPR |
|---|---|
| Operating online matches, matchmaking, parties, chat, match history, replays and ranked ratings | Performance of a contract, namely providing the Game you have chosen to play |
| Enforcing fair play, including queue restrictions, recording early departures, reviewing reports and preventing cheating | Our legitimate interest in a fair and safe game |
| Security, prevention of abuse and diagnosis of server faults | Our legitimate interest in keeping the service operational and secure |
| Crash reports | Our legitimate interest in correcting faults. You may opt out in the Game's settings. |
| Balancing the Game using aggregated match statistics | Our legitimate interest in improving the Game |
| Complying with the law and responding to lawful requests | Compliance with a legal obligation |
We do not make decisions about you based solely on automated processing that produce legal effects or similarly significant effects. Matchmaking and ratings are automated, and they affect only the selection of the players you are matched with.
4. How We Share Information
- Other players. Other players can see your Steam display name, hero, in-match chat, scoreboard statistics and match results in matches you share, in replays and in spectated matches. Players who took part in a match with you can also see your Steam ID in that match's record in their match history and in the match's rating results.
- Your Steam friends. Your Steam friends can see your activity in the Game through Steam, as described in section 2.4.
- Service providers. The following providers process information on our behalf under contract:
- Valve Corporation (Steam), for the platform, authentication, lobbies and rich presence.
- Vultr Holdings, LLC, for servers located in the United States that host matches, matchmaking and match history.
- Functional Software, Inc. (Sentry), for crash reports and session signals, as described in section 2.3.
- Unity Technologies, for anonymous hardware statistics collected by the Unity game engine, such as the operating system, processor, graphics card and memory.
- Legal requirements. We may disclose information where required by law, or where necessary to protect the rights, safety or property of players, Sagewright Games or others.
- Business transfers. If Sagewright Games or the Game is sold or otherwise transferred, information may be transferred as part of that transaction and will remain subject to this Privacy Policy.
We do not sell personal information, and we do not share personal information for cross-context behavioural advertising.
5. International Transfers
Our servers and service providers may be located in the United States, the European Union, Singapore or other countries outside your country of residence. Where we transfer personal data from the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, we rely on appropriate safeguards, such as the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses or the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework where the recipient participates in it.

7. Your Rights and Choices
Depending on your place of residence, you may have the right to:
- access the personal data we hold about you and obtain a copy of it;
- request correction of inaccurate personal data;
- request deletion of your personal data;
- object to, or request restriction of, certain processing, including processing based on our legitimate interests;
- receive your personal data in a portable format;
- withdraw your consent where processing is based on consent; and
- lodge a complaint with a data protection authority. In the European Union, this is the supervisory authority of your country. In the United Kingdom, this is the Information Commissioner's Office.
California residents have the right to know what personal information we collect, to request its deletion or correction, and to be free from discrimination for exercising these rights. We do not sell or share personal information, as those terms are defined under California law.
Submitting a request. To exercise any of these rights, email biz@sagewrightgames.com and include your Steam ID or a link to your Steam profile so that we can locate your data. To verify that the request comes from you, we may ask you to confirm it through your Steam account, for example by temporarily adding a code we provide to your Steam profile summary. We will respond within 30 days. Deleting your data removes your match history, rating and any reports concerning you. Matches you played will continue to appear in other players' match histories and replays, with your entry anonymised.
Choices within the Game. You may disable crash reports and the session signal in the Game's settings, mute other players, and enable or disable the profanity filter, which is enabled by default.
8. Children
Dunya Arena contains fantasy violence and depictions of blood and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under the age of 13, or under the age of 16 in the European Economic Area, or under the applicable age in your country. If you believe that a child has provided personal information to us, please contact us and we will delete it.
9. Security
We use reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your information, including encrypted connections for authentication and match history, identity verification through Steam, and restricted access to our servers. No system is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee the absolute security of your information.
10. Changes to This Privacy Policy
As the Game is in Early Access, we may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will publish any revised version with an updated "Last updated" date. Where the changes are significant, we will also announce them in the Game's patch notes or on the Game's Steam store page.
